Early on\, he explores the rules and secrets of counterpoin t and harmony\; as a young student\, he joins the class of Lev Natochenny in Frankfurt and wins first prizes in Paris and at the Busoni Competition in Bolzano.\nThe sensational victory at the Leipzig Bach Competition in 20 02 became the starting point of a career that led Martin Stadtfeld to the most important festivals and the important concert halls and orchestras.  \nOver the last two decades recitals with the music of Bach\, the sonatas of Beethoven\, German Romanticism and orchestral invitations with piano co ncertos ranging from Mozart to Rachmaninoff have taken Martin Stadtfeld al l over the world.\nDuring this time\, he recorded 26 CDs for Sony Classica l\, which were award-winning and celebrated by international critics. Agai n and again\, the music of Johann Sebastian Bach is represented in this im pressive discography. Recordings of the Goldberg Variations\, the Well-Te mpered Piano\, the music of the young Bach emerge. At the same time\, this intensive occupation points the way to recordings of Chopin's Etudes\, wo rks by Mozart and Beethoven and German Romanticism that cast a new light u pon this music.\nSo it almost inevitably happens that the courage for pers onal interpretation also leads to own compositions and free arrangements. Handel Variations\, Piano Songbook\, Homage to Bach\, German Folksongs\,  Genesis and  Baroque Colours are titles that make Martin Stadtfeld's ver y personal engagement with music come alive: on CDs\, as a stream\, but al so as sheet music\, which is published with great success by Schott Music. \nIn addition\, Martin Stadtfeld has been committed to music education for many years: Countless visits to schools\, concerts for children and young people\, CD radio plays to help children and adults enter the world of cl assical music are testimony to this. Martin Stadtfeld will now use his bro ad experience as a professor for piano at the University of the Arts in Br emen.\nA collaboration between the Bach Festival\, Gewandhaus Leipzig\, Me ndelssohn House and Schumann House.\nFoto: Yvonne Zemke ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.schumannhaus.de/wp-content/uploads/2 025/10/Martin_Stadtfeld_Pressefoto_2016_c_Yvonne_Zemke_-_Sony_Classical_3- 1500x1000-1920w.webp CATEGORIES:Schumann's Salon at the Bach Festival Leipzig END:VEVENT BEGIN:VTIMEZONE TZID:Europe/Berlin X-LIC-LOCATION:Europe/Berlin BEGIN:DAYLIGHT DTSTART:20260329T030000 TZOFFSETFROM:+0100 TZOFFSETTO:+0200 TZNAME:CEST END:DAYLIGHT END:VTIMEZONE END:VCALENDAR
