Clara! On Tour

31.10.2025
19:00 - 20:30

‘Clara! On Tour’ is a new concert series by the Schumann Network, initiated by Julian Prégardien and curated by pianists based on Clara Schumann's programme designs. The curator of this concert evening is Saskia Giorgini.

"Clara Schumann has held a special fascination for me for a long time. She is a surprisingly modern female figure whose enormous willpower has inspired me since my youth. Despite all the difficulties of being a woman at that time, she managed not to give up her career as a celebrated virtuoso – while at the same time promoting the works of her (complicated) husband, supporting him, having eight children and writing beautiful music herself. I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to collaborate with the wonderful Julian Prégardien on a programme that takes a broad look at Clara Schumann's own work and her pianistic preferences – inspired by some of the programmes from the many concert evenings she herself gave. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about this extraordinary personality and rediscover her music." (Saskia Giorgini)
